It was a combination of hard science and pastry arts that broke down the process of baking picture-perfect cakes at home for aspiring bakers.
Since then, Levy Beranbaum has been teaching the world about the joys of baking with her unique and meticulous books, most recently Rose's Heavenly Cakes .

Hundreds of Calgarians had a double helping as they strolled down cake lane during the fourth annual L'Arche Calgary Cake Walk yesterday.
